The Art and Science of List Building

You’ll hear this Stack called many things— Lead Gen, Opt-in, Squeeze Page, Incentive, Lead Magnets, and so on. They’re all basically the same thing. You want to build a mailing list of people who will eventually buy your product or service.

This page serves as checklist for the first three steps in the following flowchart:

ConvertKit
a PDF or a video you have made to use as your opt-in

Step 1: Caputre Names and Email Addresses with a Form

ConvertKit makes form creation really easy. Log in and click on the Grow tab, then select Landing Pages and Forms. Click the Create New button. If you have a website you can choose a Form to embed using a little code, otherwise select a Landing Page.

Either way, choose a template you like, and then customize it with your text, photos, and colors as needed.

Save and Publish. If you chose a Form, grab the code and embed it on your website. If you chose a Landing Page, you’ll come back and grab that URL later.

Step 2: Names and Email addresses get added to your mailing list and tagged.

Step 3: Send an email with the freebie (yes, again!) and your nurture sequence
